Using the Responsible Data Science (RDS) Framework in collaboration with Feeding San Diego and the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank, we created a predictive dashboard to help optimize food distribution in San Diego County. It’s a first-of-its-kind partnership between two of the county’s most prominent organizations, playing vital roles in ending food insecurity.
The dashboard displays future food assistance in local areas while showing underserved communities. It helps the food banks optimize their operations and allocate resources to ensure people get the help they need. Both organizations have seen improved targeting of food assistance, enhanced understanding of food insecurity dynamics, and strengthened partnerships.
RDS can be used to solve problems worldwide, and we are proud to demonstrate this in the fight against hunger. By supporting our initiative, you're not just donating; you're becoming a part of a movement that uses innovation and data for good. Together, we can continue to make strides in eradicating hunger, not only in San Diego County but potentially in communities worldwide.
