Food Bank Project
Using data to fight hunger in San Diego County

In collaboration with Feeding San Diego (FSD) and the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank, we developed a predictive dashboard to enhance food distribution across San Diego County. It forecasts future food assistance needs in local areas while identifying underserved communities, ensuring that resources reach those who need them most.
The San Diego Food Bank feeds around 400,000 people every month, and FSD has distributed over 29 million meals in the past year.
Since implementing our dashboard, both organizations have reported improved targeting of resources, a clearer understanding of food insecurity dynamics, and strengthened partnerships.
