Apply as a DSA Intern - Now taking applications for the summer and fall.

We’re looking for ambassadors of Responsible Data Science (RDS)—people passionate about promoting RDS and supporting mission-driven organizations through ethical data projects. As a DSA intern, you’ll have the opportunity to gain real-world experience at a tech nonprofit and network with industry experts. You don’t have to be a data scientist though—we are also looking for graphic designers and creative storytellers who can help bring our projects and online content to life!

DSA interns are required to work a minimum of 15-20 hours/week and must be able to work in-person at our San Diego office once a week. Our internships follow the quarterly academic calendar.

RDS GAME PROJECT

A fun and interactive way to get involved with data science

Our RDS Video Game will be a captivating, educational experience. With a target audience of ages 10-18, we’ll teach our players how to use Responsible Data Science (RDS) when solving problems, helping them become knowledgeable of its broad prominence and application in the real world. From an early age, we want to help them see they can pursue STEM careers while using data responsibly.

While it has the allure of a wizard world powered by “magical” data science, this isn't just a game; it's a journey that ignites excitement about the limitless potential for RDS in our modern society. We envision this game being widely used in classrooms and museums to inspire future generations of data scientists and enthusiasts to pursue their dreams while embracing responsible data practices.

With the help of our student interns and volunteers, we completed our storyline at the beginning of 2024. Stay tuned as we move towards releasing an Alpha version by Q4!
